The Call of Light - A Ceremonial Oral Teaching
Invocation:
Come, a Human of Gaia.
Sit here with me in the early dawn light.
Listen to the quiet singing of the volcanoes,
the soft breathing of the lake before sunrise.
Let us call upon the Great Grandmother’s Light,
that we may remember the weaving of Courage and Hope
within the heart of our seeing.
Breathe with me.
Inhale – receiving the Light that remembers you.
Exhale – allowing your body to soften into this remembering.

Teaching: The Call of Light
These times we live in are not ordinary times.
The winds upon the Lake have changed.
The cosmic waters are stirring.
The Heart of Earth is opening to new Light,
and all life is being touched by her awakening.
Some see only the storms —
the turmoil of a world shaking itself awake.
But there is also another force moving among us:
A great fountain of Light
cascading into the valleys of our lives.
⸻
The Way of Receiving
But listen to this wisdom of the land:
When the soil has been too long in drought,
it hardens.
The rain may come, pouring down with generosity,
but the earth cannot drink.
The water runs off into the gullies,
flooding,
disappearing back into the rivers and lakes,
while the soil remains dry and untouched beneath.
So it is with Light.
Unless there are hearts and bodies open to receive it,
this rain of subtle energy cannot sink in.
It flows past us,
sometimes leaving disruption in its wake.
⸻
The Way of Becoming Partners
Remember this, my child:
Gaia is a living being,
woven of both subtle and physical partners.
The Devas, the nature spirits, the elementals,
the trees, animals, stones,
and we humans —
all are called to help her receive and integrate these new forces.
This is the Call of Light in our time.
⸻
The Weaving of Courage and Hope
How do we answer this call?
We answer by walking with Courage and Hope.
We answer by letting the Heart Within the Voice of our pain and fear — Voice 1
be woven together with the Heart Within the Voice of remembering and hope — Voice 2.
And from this weaving emerges the Presence of Light within the Heart of Voice 3 —
the silent Sacred Voice of Inner Light,
the way of seeing and living life through Beauty.
Each time we choose to walk from this woven Quality of Light,
we become not only responders to the Call of Light,
but living participants in what this Call is asking of us.
⸻
Final Blessing
May you become the soft ground that drinks the rain.
May you become the living roots that hold the soil of the world together.
May you become the quiet heart that remembers:
Light is not something to seek,
it is something to live.
⸻
Daily Reflection Prompts
1. Morning Reflection:
As you wake, whisper to yourself:
“Open me to soften the soil of my heart today to receive the Light being offered.”
2. Walking Practice:
As you walk through your home, street, or land, repeat silently:
“I am the roots that hold the soil. I am the heart that drinks the rain of Light.”
3. Midday Pause:
When fear or judgment arises (Voice 1), pause and breathe.
Ask: “I receive within my heart the Light of the Heart Within Courage and Hope (Voice 2), weave this Light into this moment.”
4. Evening Reflection:
Before sleep, place your hands on your heart and whisper:
“Today I live as a partner of Light. Assist me tomorrow to deepen this remembering.”
5. Visioning Practice:
Visualize your body as earth becoming soft with rain,
each cell drinking in the Light of Courage and Hope,
blessing all beings you see tomorrow.
Final Reflection: The Great Grandmother’s Light in All Seeing
As you walk within the Urban Landscape where you live:
You are not only a seer.
You are the loom.
You carry the First Voice.
You listen for the Second.
You are guided by the Third.
And through your walking, your pausing, your breath,
you become the weaving of all three
into one sacred presence.
Remember this:
The Great Grandmother’s Light lives not only behind your eyes —
but within the courage that lets you look again,
and again,
and again
with love.
