“I Carry the Mountain in My Breath”

A Ceremonial Introduction to Living Within Two Lands

from the Earth Remembers Series

The Above Images:

Throughout the cornfields of my community, four sacred colors of corn are grown: Yellow, White, Black, and Red. In every Ceremonial House of Light in my Tz’utujiil Maya village, these four husks of corn are placed upon the altar. As shown in this image, they emerge from the Dreaming Place within the “Heart of Sky.”

These four colors represent more than the beauty of corn—they reflect the sacred hues of humanity’s skin. In every ceremony, and in every moment we place our attention with care, we are reminded that these four sacred husks hold a prayer for all peoples of the Earth.

This is an invitation—a quiet invocation—for the inner light of all humanity to be woven together. Wherever we walk upon this planet, we are called to remember that we are not separate.

We are invited into Love.

We are invited into Harmony.

We are invited into Peace.

We are invited into Wholeness.

—Within ourselves,

—Among one another,

—And with everything that lives upon this Earth.

The last two days I created a ceremonial paper and a detailed summary paper thats integrates and reweaves the honoring of the Voice 1 and the Voice 2 dialogue, in its emergence through our Emotional Intelligence and Cellular Memory. This is shaped by the Tz’utujiil Maya way of living life through the Heart Within the Light of Joy. Today paper is a daily body-based movement practice.

Daily Body-Based Movement Practice for

“The Heart Within Joy - A Ceremonial Reflection

on Emotional Intelligence and Cellular Memory”

From the Weaving of Voice 1 and Voice 2

into the Light of Wholeness

The Practice: Remembering Joy as Inner Light

Come close.

We do not begin by chasing joy,

but by pausing—

by letting the body feel the quiet Light

that has never left.

This daily movement practice is not designed to lift your mood,

but to reawaken the inner memory of Joy

as a sacred presence within the bones,

held by both Voice 1 and Voice 2,

held by the Earth beneath concrete,

and by the Light within your own breath.

Let us begin…

1. Begin with Listening: Two Hands, Two Voices

Stand or sit with your feet grounded. Place one hand over your heart (Voice 2) and one hand over your forehead (Voice 1).

Close your eyes.

Let both hands speak.

Inhale slowly through your nose.

Exhale softly.

Now, gently release all stories,

and say aloud:

“I carry two voices.

I honor them both.

I let them rest in the light of my body.”

Allow a few breaths of stillness.

Let your spine soften.

Let the inner Light begin to pulse beneath your ribs.

2. The Heart Within Joy — Chest Expansion Flow

With each inhale, gently open your arms outward from the chest. With each exhale, return your hands to your heart.

Move slowly. Let each motion become breath.

With each breath cycle, speak softly or inwardly:

“Joy does not come to me.

Joy moves through me.”

Repeat for 3–5 cycles.

Feel the breath opening the space behind your sternum.

Let the movement be round, gentle, and without force.

3. Bone-Remembering Spiral — Spine and Pelvis

Begin slow, small spirals of the hips and lower spine. Let the movement ripple gently upward.

This is not dance.

This is remembering.

Let your shoulders sway.

Let your hands trace small circles in the air.

Whisper aloud:

“I remember the Light

beneath my bones.

The Joy that shaped me

before I had a name.”

Let the spirals become slower…

until your body returns to stillness.

4. Walking with Joy — The Weaving Step

Walk slowly, barefoot if possible, or with grounded awareness. With each step, feel the foot as a thread weaving Light into the Earth.

Let your breath match your pace.

As you walk, repeat inwardly:

“I am being woven

into the Joy that holds all things.”

Feel your body not as separate from the world,

but as part of the dialogue between

Earth and Sky,

Voice 1 and Voice 2,

Breath and Becoming.

Let the walk last 2–5 minutes.

5. Touch of the Bundle — Closing Integration

Return to stillness. Bring your hands together, then open them like an offering.

Imagine you are holding the Martin Bundle of Joy—

woven not of fabric, but of inner light.

Now bring your palms gently to your chest

as if placing the bundle within your heart.

Say aloud:

“I am not seeking Joy.

I am remembering it.

I carry the Light

that holds both my pain and my praise.

I walk with the Joy

that lives inside all things.”

Close with three breaths.

Let your shoulders relax.

Let your mind rest in your body’s knowing.

Daily One-Line Mantra:

“I am being woven into the Joy that remembers itself.”
