Green Goddess of the Sacred Oak

In ancient times the Oak tree was thought to be “The Tree of Life,” the place

where all were created and from which everything emerged. It is not difficult to see why the tree took on such a great power among our ancestors.

The tree lasts many human lifetimes and even in the winter, when it appears to be dead, it is in fact still alive, rebirthing when spring arrives. Thus, trees were symbols of eternal life, ever renewing themselves throughout all of time. The tree also was a bridge between Heaven and Earth. So, in different cultures various trees took on sacred meaning, as did the Oak tree.

For the Druid, the Oak was filled with magical properties, including everything

from its blossom to its seed, the Acorn. Every part of the tree was imbued with sacred properties. Its strength and beauty were powerful, and anything made from oak held these properties.

It is said That the Goddess of Creation herself dwelled in the Oak tree and from

it revealed herself to the worthy. The Green Goddess is depicted in this painting as the bringer of Prosperity, Eternal Life, Good Health, and Magical Powers. She is dressed in the color green, symbolic of ever-renewing life. Her dress is decorated in golden leaves and acorns. Gold is the color of prosperity and the sacred. Her crown is filled with gems of the earth. A moon and star hang from her crown, reminders of her magical feminine powers. The borders of the painting are covered with spirals that are the signature symbol of the power of the Goddess.

The Green Goddess of the Sacred Oak emanates quiet compassion and offers her presence to bring invigoration of life into your world. She renews and brings her seeds of life to be planted and to grow in your heart. Make a wish and let your heart’s desire grow within you.
