A Tz’utujiil Maya Reflection - Kimoon K’uxlaal
“The Weaving of Many into One Heart - a remembering that life is always lived in relationship”
In our Tz’utujiil Maya way of living life, we know that everything breathes together in a sacred weaving. We call this “Kimoon K’uxlaal,” meaning the weaving of many into one heart — a remembering that life is always lived in relationship. This is the living from our inner nature of Voice 3.
⸻
Invocation: Remembering Our Call of Light
Come close, Human of Gaia.
Sit here upon the quiet Earth,
and feel her breathing beneath you.
Let your gaze rest upon the sky above,
the mountains, the lake,
the trees standing as elders around you.
Breathe deeply.
Inhale – feeling the Light within your heart awakening.
Exhale – allowing this Light to soften your seeing.
⸻
Today we remember:
The Light is not separate.
It is not something to seek far away.
It is a living presence
calling us forth from within,
woven into our bones,
flowing through our blood,
singing within each breath we take.
⸻
This Light calls us
through the warmth of the morning sun,
through the quiet glow of the moon,
through the songs of the birds
and the deep stillness of the stones.
This is our Call of Light –
not a voice from beyond,
but the Great Grandmother’s Light
emerging from within us,
calling us to live
as threads of Light
within her Great Weaving.
⸻
Let us remember:
We live our lives within the Weaving of Many into One Heart,
a remembering that life is always lived in relationship.
⸻
May this day awaken within you
the quiet knowing
that your Light is not separate,
but is a sacred strand
within the Great Loom of Life,
weaving with all beings,
all waters,
all mountains,
all people,
into one
Heart
of Light.
⸻
I woke up this morning feeling the immensity of hope that rises within me when I reflect upon – Kimoon K’uxlaal, the way Life remembers itself as one great body.
There is a network of light and knowing streaming through all life, within us and around us.
⸻
The Trees Teach Us
Look at the trees on our mountainsides. Even when the soil is tired and dying, the trees continue to live, because they communicate not only with each other but with all the other beings around them – fungi, stones, water, ancestors in the land – to create what is needed.
This is the magic of “The Weaving of Many into One Heart - a remembering that life is always lived in relationship”.
This is at the heart of what I describe as “Remembering Our Call of Light!”
“Remembering Our Call of Light” deeply honors the knowingness that Light is not separate or external, but is a living presence that calls us forth from within, through the land, sky, and all beings as one Great Weaving of Light.
When a threshold is reached within the many voices of life, a greater intelligence emerges. An entire forest becomes wiser than any single tree. In this way, Kimoon K’uxlaal is the weaving of each thread into a tapestry stronger and more beautiful than any strand alone.
⸻
The Three Voices Within “The Weaving of Many into One Heart - a remembering that life is always lived in relationship”
In our ceremonial teachings, “The Weaving of Many into One Heart - a remembering that life is always lived in relationship” is part of the journey of Remembering. It is awakened by the Voice of the Great Grandmother’s Light, allowing us to weave a new Tapestry of Light — the Living Web of Light — bringing forth unknown possibilities into Voice 3, the Sacred Voice.
“The Weaving of Many into One Heart - a remembering that life is always lived in relationship” allows:
• Voice 1 – The Shadowed Voice and First Steps Toward Beauty
to be held and transmuted into the weaving of
• Voice 2 – The Art of Remembering and the Emergence of Light,
which forms and shapes the weaving into
• Voice 3 – The Sacred Voice and Living Light of Being,
the light that perceives life through Beauty - the unique tapestry of me as the embodiment of I Am.
⸻
In Voice 1, we experience struggle, fear, doubt.
But within every struggle is a seed of light, the heart within, waiting to emerge.
Voice 2 forms and shapes this emerging light, giving it space to become.
We are held within the light of this weaving within both Voice 1 and Voice 2 at the same time, emerging into something larger then just Voice 1 and Voice 2.
We create a resonance of light that blossoms into Voice 3 – Beauty itself,
the Sacred Voice and Living Light of our Beingness.
This is like the journey of the caterpillar becoming a butterfly.
Voice 1 is always the beginning – the first weaving of our Beingness.
⸻
The Micro and Macro Weaving
In the micro-world, when bacteria and fungi reach a diverse and abundant population, they begin to act with hyper-intelligence – behaving as one system far greater than any single part.
In the macro-world, this happens with flocks of birds, schools of fish, herds of deer, forests of trees, and, yes, with human communities.
⸻
Remembering Our Place
What would happen if we as humans remembered Kimoon K’uxlaal — as the weaving of many hearts into one?
What would it look like if we quieted our thinking minds long enough to listen to the life we are woven within, rather than insisting on telling the world what it is?
If we humble ourselves into listening, we may come to know that we are not separate beings of unique consciousness, but threads within a living weaving of light.
⸻
Becoming Partners of the Great Weaving
If we listen to what Mother Earth sees, rather than what we see of her, we open ourselves to become hyper-conscious, hyper-intelligent partners and co-creators within her living tapestry.
This is how we heal ourselves and the Earth.
We bring community back into daily life.
We make communion the purpose of food rather than mere calorie absorption.
We connect through fellowship, adventure, and play.
We share our life stories as threads woven into the greater weaving.
⸻
Living Kimoon K’uxlaal – the weaving of many into one heart - a remembering that life is always lived in relationship in Action
When we live the weaving of many into one heart - a remembering that life is always lived in relationship:
• Our sensitivity to the world deepens.
• Our purpose becomes clear.
• Our ability to create something greater than ourselves becomes natural.
• Our connections grow richer and more fulfilling.
If the trees, fish, birds, fungi, and bacteria can live this way,
then so can we.
When we unite in community,
our constant need for ownership, consumption, and control begins to soften,
and we become givers — living blessings within the web of life.
⸻
Reflection
Can you imagine a world where we are known as a sharing species?
What would it look like for you to share your light within your human community today?
What would it look like for your community to share and give back to Mother Earth?
It is time to share, sense, commune, and connect — globally and locally.
If we gather enough hearts into this weaving,
a new world of light will emerge.
